Responding to a Media Matters item, Chris Baker said: "Media Matters people can kiss my supple buttocks. What I say is what I say, and if they don't like it, instead of hiding like a bunch of commie girls, they can challenge me if they like."

Savage still claiming autism comments taken out of context, despite his prior reference to "a phony disease"

Referring to Media Matters' documentation of comments in which he called autism "[a] fraud, a racket," Michael Savage said: "They're very happy that they were able to use the poor parents of autistic children to attack me when I in fact have been more supportive of the most vulnerable children in our population than anybody else in the history of radio. That's correct, me, Michael Savage." Savage went on to falsely claim that his comments about autism were taken of context, stating: "So what they did was they took a sound bite out of context and they used the poor parents of autistic children to attack me. That's very clever."

A WorldNetDaily article reporting on the controversy over Michael Savage's July 16 remarks about autism stated that Savage "told WND that Media Matters itself is as much a part of the story as autism," adding: "Acting like the HIV virus, he said, 'they invade the body politic and mimic the defense cells until they poison the entire organism.' "

O'Reilly on Media Matters: "Any of the presidential candidates who can deport those swine -- I'm voting for them"

On his radio program, Bill O'Reilly called the "people" at Media Matters for America "the worst Americans in the country" and stated, "If I could, I would deport them." O'Reilly also asserted: "But this Media Matters, this disgusting, despicable, far-left website, they do it all the time. And MoveOn and all these people, that's what they do. They disagree with you, and they brand you a racist."

Beck mischaracterized Media Matters item quoting his interview with controversial evangelist Hagee

CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck suggested that, in a recent item, Media Matters for America claimed that Beck did not "directly ask [evangelist John Hagee] about the Catholic Church and anything like that." In fact, what Media Matters noted in the March 5 item was that Beck did not challenge Hagee on his specific comments about the Catholic Church or any other of a long list of controversial statements he has made.

Ignoring Boehlert's specific claims, O'Reilly suggested Media Matters is "lying" about Fox News' ratings

Referring to Eric Boehlert's recent Media Matters column, Bill O'Reilly claimed that "the smear factory has put out an article that says Fox News will have a rough year in 2008. Well, if the January ratings are any indication, Media Matters is once again lying its 'you know what' off." But Boehlert did not address Fox News' overall ratings; he compared Fox News' and CNN's ratings during major campaign events in January to support his argument that Fox News will have a "tough year." And O'Reilly did not address any of Boehlert's specific assertions about Fox News.

NRO contributor Smith "hard-pressed" to find U.S. service members who would say "it's not going well" in Iraq

In a post
on the NRO military blog
The Tank, W. Thomas Smith Jr. asserted that he had been to Iraq, spent
"[d]ays -- sometimes weeks -- at a time" with units in action, and
would be "hard-pressed to find one American Marine or soldier (or a Brit)
who would say to me 'it's not going well.' " However, there are several examples
of active-duty or retired service members
expressing discontent with progress in Iraq through media outlets.

CBSNews.com article contains language nearly identical to WorldNetDaily article, including falsehood

An October 10 article on the conservative news website WorldNetDaily
about reactions to Ann Coulter's comment that Christians "just want
Jews to be perfected, as they say" asserted that the controversy over her
comment began when Media Matters for America,
"a pro-Democrat media lobby headed by David Brock, noted Coulter's
appearance on CNBC's 'The Big Idea' with host Donny Deutsch."
An October 12 CBSNews.com article contained large sections that were nearly identical to the WorldNetDaily report, including the inaccurate description of Media Matters. In fact, Media Matters is not affiliated with any party or candidate.

Schlussel smeared Soros, "believe[s]" Deutsch "was lying about his own religious status"

In a post on her
website, Debbie Schlussel claimed that Media
Matters is "anti-American, anti-Israel, and funded by
[philanthropist] George Soros, a Jew who proudly worked for the Nazis rounding
up Jews and sending them to their deaths." She also wrote, "I believe Donny Deutch [sic] was lying
about his own religious status" in the interview, and that she "doubt[s] that" he is a
"practicing Jew," because "his show is on live during the Jewish Sabbath, and
keeping the Jewish Sabbath is the most important commandment for a religious Jew
to keep."

Williams offered no explanation of how Media

an "attack" on him.
