In the days before the election, media figures have repeatedly compared Obama to Hitler

Since October 16, numerous media figures -- among them Jerome Corsi, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, and Bill Cunningham -- have compared Sen. Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis.

Don't believe the Hype: Will newspapers distributing Bossie's DVD report on its falsehoods?

The conservative activist group Citizens United is reportedly distributing Hype: The Obama Effect, a DVD attacking Sen. Barack Obama, this week in newspapers in Ohio, Nevada, and Florida. The AP quoted Citizens United president David Bossie saying of the film, "We think it's a truthful attack. People can take it anyway they want." But a Media Matters analysis of Hype finds that it contains numerous falsehoods and misrepresentations of Obama's record. Newspapers that distribute the DVD should consider their obligation to provide readers with information that discredits it.

Conservative media figures allege Obama's Hawaii trip is about discredited birth-certificate rumors, not his ailing grandmother

Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, and Jerome Corsi suggested or asserted that the true purpose of Sen. Barack Obama's current trip to Hawaii is not to visit his ailing grandmother, as Obama claims, but rather to address rumors -- widely debunked -- that Obama has failed to produce a valid U.S. birth certificate. However, in addition to FactCheck.org and a Hawaiian Health Department official, even Corsi's employer, the right-wing website WorldNetDaily, has reportedly determined that the birth certificate provided by the Obama campaign is authentic.

On Cunningham's radio show, Corsi touted dubious "documents" he claims will "prove" Obama "made a pact" with Odinga

Jerome Corsi claimed on Bill Cunningham's radio show that he "came out of Kenya" with "documents" proving that Sen. Barack Obama "made a pact with this radical leftist politician [Raila] Odinga who is perfectly happy to expand Islamic Sharia law in Kenya and have tribal violence to get power." But the only "documents" Corsi has thus far provided -- purported emails listing the contact in his Senate office to work with Odinga -- do not establish that Obama "made a pact" with Odinga, and they "appear not to have been written by a native English speaker," as Politico's Ben Smith noted.

In post-detention KSFO interview, Corsi claimed critics of Obama are "now going to have to risk being thrown in jail or killed"

On KSFO's The Lee Rodgers Show, Jerome Corsi asserted regarding his detention and departure from Kenya: "I think the story here is really the suppression of the press. ... I hate to think of what the First Amendment is going to mean. If you write a negative book or criticize [Sen. Barack] Obama, I think you're now going to have to risk being thrown in jail or killed." Rodgers said, "I'll tell you what's scary about this, to make the connection here. These are friends of Barack Obama in Kenya, who are trying to intimidate a journalist."

Ignoring its own reporting, NY Times did not point out falsehoods in Corsi's smear books on Obama, Kerry

The New York Times asserted that Jerome Corsi's recent book smearing Sen. Barack Obama "raises pointed questions about Mr. Obama's history of drug use, his 'extensive connections' to Islam and his relationships with Kenyan politicians, among other things -- allegations that Mr. Obama's campaign and others have widely disputed." However, the Times did not point out that The Obama Nation contains numerous falsehoods that have been widely discredited and denounced by the media.

Calling in to Quinn & Rose from Kenya, Corsi said of his detention: "[C]all Barack's office and ask him why I'm being detained"

In a phone call to The War Room with Quinn & Rose, Jerome Corsi stated that he and his staff were "being detained by the immigration of Kenya 'cause they lost our entry papers." Corsi repeatedly suggested Obama was responsible for his detention, stating at one point: "[J]ust don't write anything bad about Senator Obama, because, otherwise, this is what happens to you." Corsi also said, "[C]all Barack's office and ask him why I'm being detained."

Corsi again falsely claimed "there is no substance to the allegations" that his book "contains lies"

Obama Nation author Jerome Corsi again falsely asserted that "there is no substance" to claims from Sen. Barack Obama's campaign that his book "contains lies," despite the fact that Corsi previously provided a list of 11 corrections to the next printing of the book -- many of which correct falsehoods documented by the Obama campaign, Media Matters, or both.

Obama Nation author Jerome Corsi asserted that Sen.
Corsi suggests Obama might create government dept. to censor books critical of him

Obama Nation author Jerome Corsi again suggested that Sen. Barack Obama might create a new department of the government to censor books critical of him if elected president, writing, "By placing 'Unfit for Publication' as the title of the mock-book, does the Obama rebuttal mean to suggest an Obama administration might have a censorship department in which a book critical of a President Obama might be banned from publication?"

Even WND disputes Corsi's phony Obama birth certificate claim

WorldNetDaily.com, for which Jerome Corsi, author of the debunked and discredited book The Obama Nation, works as a staff reporter, has now taken on the claim that its own writer has been promoting, and determined for itself to be false -- that the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama "has a false, fake birth certificate posted on their website." WorldNetDaily reported that a "WND investigation into Obama's birth certificate utilizing forgery experts ... found the document to be authentic."

Barack Obama were elected president and someone were to write a book critical of him or to publish "a cartoon like The New Yorker," "Obama might just have to create a department of hate crimes and put them in jail."

Jerome Corsi's appearance on the July 20 edition of The Political Cesspool Radio Show -- during which he promoted The Obama Nation and criticized Sen. Barack Obama -- was streamed "Live" on the self-described "White Nationalist" and "White Pride" website Stormfront.org. Prior to Corsi's appearance on the July 20 broadcast, host James Edwards claimed that "most Jews ... regard[] Jews and whites as two different races," and co-host Winston Smith repeatedly referred to Obama as a "mulatto."
